About
A narrow-range endemic eucalypt restricted to a few granite mountains straddling the Queensland-NSW border, including Mount Norman inside Girraween National Park. Listed as Vulnerable under the EPBC Act due to its naturally tiny population and habitat loss.
How to spot it
Smooth, powdery white and grey bark shed in narrow strips — strikingly pale against the pink granite boulders. Glossy light-green, linear to lance-shaped leaves 60-160mm long. Grows 15-20m tall in clefts on exposed granite outcrops rather than open woodland soil.
