Flooded Gum ("The Grandis")

Myall Lakes National Park is home to 'The Grandis,' a roughly 400-year-old flooded gum recorded as the tallest tree in New South Wales. Flooded gum grows in wet forest and rainforest margins from Newcastle to northern Queensland.

How to spot it

Smooth, powdery pale to blue-grey or white bark with a rough brownish 'skirt' persisting at the base. Glossy dark green lance-shaped leaves 10-16cm long and white flowers from April to August; the Grandis picnic area within the park marks the famous specimen.
