Straggly Corkbark

About

A small tree, 2-7 m tall, of the Simpson Desert and Channel Country that extends into Central Australia's sandy and stony arid zone, with needle-like leaves and clusters of greenish-yellow flowers. It can resprout from its base after fire.

How to spot it

Densely white-haired young branchlets; compound needle-like (terete) leaves 1.5-9.5 cm long; clusters of up to 105 small greenish-yellow flowers; woody, long-beaked seed pods 2.5-4.2 cm long.
