About

One of Australia's rarest rainforest trees — an estimated 20 or so mature individuals remain in the wild in Queensland. The Gondwana Rainforests, including Lamington and Springbrook, are thought to be its last stronghold.

How to spot it

Small tree with glossy, dark green, whorled leaves and clusters of small cream flowers. Extremely rare — most hikers will never knowingly see one, which is exactly why a confirmed sighting matters for conservation records.
