About

A shrub of sclerophyll and cool forest across the ACT's mountainous ranges, including the Tidbinbilla and Brindabella country, extending through Tasmania, Victoria, NSW and Queensland.

How to spot it

A shrub 0.6-9m tall (rarely a small tree) with rusty-haired young branchlets and opposite-paired elliptical to egg-shaped leaves 13-120mm long. Cylindrical, greenish-yellow to red bell-flowers with four short lobes and prominent protruding stamens, flowering mainly in spring but sporadically year-round.
