A small salt-tolerant tree found on Burleigh Head's seaward-facing slopes, prized for flowers that open bright yellow and deepen to red by day's end.
How to spot it
Heart-shaped leaves; flowers change colour through the day from yellow with a deep red centre to orange then red.
